Everybody has dreams… It could be about career ambitions, taking a treacherous solo trip, or enjoying a a lovely beach date.....
Some dreams are crazy, some romantic, and some about healing. Indeed I had dreams…later they were all just mine, but when she entered, it was all our dream together.
While I was a kid, my mom used to tell me stories from the Bible during our dinners. I will never forget her telling the myth of Jonah and the whale. As a child, I always visualized about that fish after hearing Jonah's story…
How vast could that fish be…???
Where can I see that fish...????
Are they still out there?
I assumed I'd someday see those gigantic fish..?
When I was growing up, I used to read Balarama every week. There was a a novel about a big white whale called Moby-Dick. I was rooted in my dreams of seeing whales after reading Moby-Dick. It was then that I realized whales cannot be seen in the sea. We have to go to the ocean for that to happen.
Then in 2015 after my college, I saw a film called In the Heart of the Sea. That movie was inspired by the novel Moby Dick. After watching that film, a desire to see whales again grew.
when I was too young, whales were like so big fish that can eat humans... but when I was in my tens they were those big fish that hunted for their oil. Some chapters in Moby Dick make me wish I could haunt whales. Whaling was a warrior's job when it came to that golden age. Whaling provided oil to light up their homes... prosper their nation. I felt like I was living in that era when I was reading that novel.
As I said from the beginning, that book strengthened my roots of dreaming about seeing whales. Growing up, I also became more clear about that dream. Now I know where I can find those big whales.
My plus two days were over, and I was already going through the entrance exam, preparation for engineering. My results arrived, I got a decent rank. The only confusion was with which branch I would choose.I had chosen to decide a general branch. My parents encouraged me to select colleges in my vicinity. There are three colleges within 10 km from my home. I am considering a mechanical branch from any of these colleges. At that time, mechanical was a highly demanding course. So, I didn't get that branch. I was allotted an Electrical Engineering branch in my college, which was closer to my home. I decided to join there. That's where my story as an electrical engineer began.
